Dr. Mansourizadeh’s educational journey began with a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Islamic Azad University, Gachsaran, Iran, in 1997. He further pursued an M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the Islamic Azad University, South Tehran Branch, in 2000, where his research focused on simulating catalytic reactors for NOx removal. In 2010, he completed his Ph.D. in Gas Engineering at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, where his thesis centered on developing hollow fiber membranes for CO2 absorption using gas-liquid membrane contactors. This foundation laid the groundwork for his future contributions to membrane science, particularly in environmental applications.

Experience

Dr. Mansourizadeh has a rich blend of academic and industrial experience. He started his academic career in 2000 as a lecturer at Islamic Azad University, Gachsaran. From 2010 to 2011, he served as a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Petroleum and Renewable Energy Engineering at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He later became a Senior Researcher in the CO2 Management Department at PETRONAS Research Sdn Bhd, Malaysia, from 2012 to 2014. Returning to Iran, he held various roles, including Assistant Professor at Islamic Azad University from 2014 to 2021, before being promoted to Associate Professor in 2022. His industrial experience includes supervising operations at Shiraz Petrochemical Complex in Iran, giving him practical insight into the application of membrane technologies.

Research Interests

Dr. Mansourizadeh’s research interests revolve around membrane gas separation, CO2 capture, oil-water separation, and membrane distillation. He has made notable advances in developing porous hollow fiber membranes for environmental remediation. His work in gas-liquid membrane contactors for acid gas capture has gained international recognition, as has his research into wastewater treatment and natural gas purification using membrane technologies. His dedication to exploring innovative applications of membranes positions him at the forefront of his field.

Dr. Mansourizadeh has received multiple prestigious awards throughout his career. He was the recipient of the Pro-Chancellor Award and Academic Excellence Award at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2010, and the Iran Embassy’s Best Student Award in Malaysia the same year.
