He is a PhD Candidate in Finance at Wits Business School, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa (2022-2024), with his dissertation focusing on monetary integration in the ECOWAS region. He holds a Master of Management by Research in Finance from the same institution (2019-2021), an MBA in Finance from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (2010-2012), and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Law from the same university (1999-2002).

Since 2015, Richard has been a Lecturer and Head of the Department of Banking & Finance at Ghana Baptist University College. He has also served as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University College of Management Studies and the University of Ghana Institute of Continuing & Distance Education. Earlier in his career, he was a Teaching Assistant at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
