Prof. Dr. Yeonsu Oh, DVM, MPH, PhD, is a distinguished veterinary pathologist and professor at Kangwon National University, Republic of Korea, recognized for her contributions to zoonotic diseases, livestock virology, and veterinary public health. She earned her PhD in Veterinary Pathology from Seoul National University, following her undergraduate studies in Veterinary Medicine at Chungnam National University, and further broadened her academic experience as an exchange scholar at the University of North Carolina and Yale University. Her professional journey has been marked by significant milestones, including her role as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology before assuming her professorship, where she has consistently demonstrated leadership in research, teaching, and mentorship. Prof. Dr. Yeonsu Oh’s research interests focus on viral epidemiology, zoonotic spillover events, genomic surveillance of animal pathogens, and the development of preventive strategies against emerging infectious diseases such as African swine fever, lumpy skin disease, livestock tuberculosis, and SARS-CoV-2 spillover cases. Her research skills encompass advanced molecular virology, genomic sequencing, viral pathogenesis, epidemiological modeling, and cross-species transmission studies, supported by a strong network of international collaborations. She has produced a strong body of scientific work with 54 research publications, 388 citations, and an h-index of 9, with articles featured in leading journals such as Clinical Microbiology and Infection, Virology Journal, Veterinary Sciences, Pathogens, and Transboundary Emerging Diseases.
