He pursued his academic passion by completing a Master’s degree with a thesis focused on “risky behaviors, peer pressure, and psychological resilience among nursing students” in 2017. He advanced further by earning his PhD in Psychiatric Nursing from Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa in 2022, with a dissertation examining the intergenerational effects of childhood traumas on mental health and family functioning. This academic progression has shaped his holistic perspective on psychiatric care and psychological resilience.

Throughout his academic career, Assoc. Prof. Çiydem has held multiple positions that reflect a commitment to education and research. Starting as a Research Assistant at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, he later contributed to research and graduate education at Istanbul University and Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa. Since 2022, he has held an associate professorship at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University.
