Dr. Patrick is a Senior Lecturer in the Mechanical Engineering Science Department at the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment, University of Johannesburg. He is an expert in 4IR (Fourth Industrial Revolution) Nanotechnology, affiliated with the JENANO Research Group. Currently, he serves as the Head of the Smart Materials sub-research group and is the Lead Experimentalist at Africa’s first Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) facility. Dr. Patrick’s research interests span chemistry, polymers, nanocomposites, nanoparticle synthesis for applications in drug delivery, wastewater treatment, renewable energy, solar cells, thin films, hydrogen generation and storage, and innovations in ALD technology.

Dr. Patrick Ehi Imoisili holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Johannesburg (ongoing), focusing on natural fiber reinforced hybrid nanobiocomposites. He completed his PhD in Industrial Chemistry at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria, and holds an M.Tech. in Industrial Chemistry from the same institution. His educational journey includes a Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Chemistry from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, and a Higher National Diploma in Polymer Technology from Auchi Polytechnic, Nigeria.

With over 14 years as a research scientist, Dr. Imoisili is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Mechanical Engineering Science Department at the University of Johannesburg. He heads the Smart Materials sub-research group and leads experiments at the Atomic Layer Deposition facility, pioneering nanotechnology research in Africa. His expertise spans chemistry, polymers, nanocomposites, and renewable energy technologies.
