Basma holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, Menoufia University, where she graduated in 2011 with distinction. She pursued a Master’s degree in Water Management and Hydraulic Engineering from the same institution, completing it in 2018. Currently, she is working on her Ph.D. in Irrigation and Hydraulic Engineering at Ain Shams University. In addition, she earned a postgraduate diploma in Hydraulic Engineering from the Regional Training Center of the Hydraulic Research Institute in 2020, enhancing her technical expertise in river basin management.

Experience

Since 2018, Basma has been serving as an Assistant Researcher at the National Water Research Center (NWRC). In this role, she has been involved in designing and maintaining irrigation and open drainage networks, utilizing advanced technical software to simulate and improve their hydraulic efficiency. Her contributions include major projects such as the rehabilitation of the Al-Nasr Canal for the New Delta Project, enhancing Bahr Al-Bakr Drain’s functionality, and optimizing the water distribution of Bahr Youssef Canal. These projects demonstrate her capability to translate research into practical solutions that benefit large-scale water management systems.
