Biography 📚

Mehmet Cetin, Prof. Dr., serves as a faculty member in the Department of City and Regional Planning and the Department of Landscape Architecture at Ondokuz Mayis University, Samsun, Turkey. He is actively involved in teaching and research, specializing in various fields related to environmental and landscape planning.

Education 🎓

Mehmet Cetin completed his Doctorate in Landscape Architecture at Temple University, USA, from 2009 to 2013. Prior to this, he earned his Postgraduate degree in Landscape Architecture from Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, Turkey, between 2006 and 2008. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the same university’s Bartın Faculty of Forestry in Landscape Architecture, graduating in 2005.

Experience 💼

With extensive academic experience, Mehmet Cetin has taught 20 courses at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels. He has supervised 6 PhD and 20 master’s theses, currently advising 4 PhD students and 1 master’s degree student. He has led 2 international and 5 national research projects, focusing on diverse aspects of urban and landscape planning, environmental indicators, and ecological monitoring.

Research Interests 🔍

His research interests encompass landscape ecology, GIS applications, urban planning, air quality monitoring, climate change adaptation, remote sensing, and environmental pollution.
