She continued her academic pursuit, becoming the first student to undertake a direct Ph.D. in the Programa de Pós-Graduação em Física at the Instituto de Física, Universidade Federal de Uberlândia. Her doctoral research, completed in 2014, delved into the synthesis, characterization, and functionalization of semiconductor quantum dots through aqueous colloidal solutions, with a specific emphasis on nanobiotechnological applications.
