He then pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Language Sciences, with a focus on General Linguistics, at the University of Mohamed Khider, Biskra, graduating in 2011. He furthered his studies with a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics, specializing in English Language, from the same institution in 2013. In 2017, he obtained a Doctorate in English Language and Education from Abou Bekr Belkaid University, Tlemcen, where his research focused on English for Specific Purposes. Dr. Assassi also holds a series of certifications and diplomas, including an EFL Pedagogical Engineering Diploma from the University of Santiago de Compostela and a certification as an Aviation English Assessor by Bournemouth University.

Dr. Assassi’s professional experience spans over a decade, beginning with his role as an assistant at the central library of Mohamed Khider University of Biskra between 2011 and 2013. He later served as an English Language teacher at Chetma Secondary School in Biskra, where he gained in-service teaching training. His academic career at the University of Biskra began in 2015, where he was appointed as a part-time teacher of Oral and Written Expression, and later promoted to the position of Assistant Professor in 2017. Over the years, he has held numerous administrative roles, including Head of the Pedagogy Office at the English Division and Pedagogical Coordinator for the CEIL (Centre D’Enseignement Intensif des Langues) at Biskra University. Dr. Assassi is also involved in various professional associations, serving as a reviewer for multiple journals and an editorial board member for international publications.
